Staci Venski of California City made a name for herself on the club volleyball circuit, and earned an athletic scholarship at USC. She was one of the best outside hitters in the nation during her junior and senior year as Southern Cal.
As a junior she started 28 of 29 matches and averaged 2.70 kills, 0.61 digs, 0.66 blocks and 3.06 points per game. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the NACWAA Volleyball Classic after recording 18 kills in two matches against Georgia Tech and Minnesota. Staci set a career-high with six digs versus American and nine blocks versus Illinois at the State Farm Illini Classic. She played in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament and notched 15 total kills against College of Charleston and Kansas State. She also went on to be named to the all region team in the Louisville regional finals in 2004 after beating # 1 Ranked Nebraska sending USC to their third straight Final Four.
Staci was selected All PAC-10 following the 2005 season. SHe is 4th all-time on the USC career Attacks list with 1,203.
As a sophomore, Venski came off the bench to contribute, and had a significant role as USC won the 2003 NCAA Championship. She played in 34 matches, and averaged a .364 attack percentage, 1.32 kills, 0.29 digs, 0.45 blocks and 1.58 points per game. She hit .455 against New Hampshire in the first round of the NCAAs and .400 against UCLA in the NCAA Regional Final. She trained with the USA A2 Women's National Team in Lake Placid, N.Y., during the summer of 2003.
