So Cal teams took home 9 of the 16 title games at the Far West Regionals at the Lancaster National Soccer Center on Sunday, but the final game ended less than ideally for the DMS U19 boys. The So Cal represenatives squandered a 2-0 2nd half lead, losing to Colorado Rush 3-2 in overtime.
Logan McDaniel, a Quartz Hill High alumni, assisted on DMS' 2nd goal, and his team looked like they were on their way to the championship. But two goals by Rush in the last 20 minutes forced overtime. DMS had more opportunities in both overtimes, but Rush scored with 6 minutes left in the 2nd overtime and held on from there for the win.
West Coast FC took home three titles (BU13, GU13, and BU14), and Arsenal won to championships (BU16, GU13). So Cal Blues went 2-2 in title games, winning in GU15 and GU16, but losing in GU14 and GU18.
